How much and what kind of cardio each week?

I am trying to lose weight and start a more healthy lifestyle. How much time should I spend doing cardio a week? I already go to the gym 3 or 4 times a week, do strength training, and a cardio workout DVD. Every site online seem to tell me something different. Also, should I be doing the treadmill, eliptical, or bike? Thanks!
Anyone know of any good cardio dvd’s?

I go to the gym when I can, but on the days when I don’t have time I want to be able to do cardio at home, not just strength training things. So, does anyone know of a few good cardio DVD’s that really get your heart rate up and burn calories!!??
****(I searched online already I know where to find them, I just wanted to see if anyone had any personal favortie cardio DVD’s that they like
Thanks!!)*****
how to add pilates to your cardio and strength training workout?

i do cardio monday , wednesday, friday. strength training tuesday thursday. saturday all together. i recently read about pilates and heard you should do 3 days a week but not in a row. so would it be best to add pilates to my cardio days or my strength training days ? can cardio and pilates be done on the same day together? or is that too much for the muscles?
Does pilates count as my cardio? Does circuit training take the place of cardio?

I am trying to lose weight and started doing an hour of pilates. And then I do some strength training. I didn’t know if I needed more cardio. I am adding circuit training now and didn’t know if that takes the place of cardio on those days? Please advise. Thanks!
I’m looking for a good selection of cardio and strength training exercises I can do at home with no equipment

I live in an extremely polluted city in China and therefore need to exercise indoors. In the past I’ve always trained as a distance runner, but running outdoors here is just not that wise due to pollution and traffic concerns, so I would like to develop a fitness routine I can do indoors when I can’t make it to the gym. I would ideally like to combine strength training and cardio and use no or minimal equipment. Also since I’m not running much anymore I’d prefer to build some bulk rather than stay lean like I usually am. Tall order I know but any routine suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Cheers
How do you know what is the best type of fitness equipment and the best place to buy it from?

I like the bowflex commercials and so forth for example. Plus the pilates gym stuff looks good and then the treadmill or cycles look good. I see them for sale everywhere! Qvc has some of the same products as advertised on the products own webpage for example. So where is the best place or store to buy equipment from? I see many at Wal-Mart, Sears, online… everywhere. I want one for strength training/toning and one for cardio. I don’t want to spend a fortune, but I want to invest in something that will last and give me good results.
