How soon after the birth can I do light exercise/cardio?

I have been told conflicting things about this.
The first one is no exercise whatsoever for 6 weeks.
The second was you can do walking & light cardio (on a treadmill or cross trainer) as early as a week after the birth but no abdominal exercises for 6 weeks because the muscles need to heal.
I would like to do some light cardio as long as it’s okay
How much cardio must you do to burn fat?

Does it matter whether you do a bit of running, cross trainer, bike etc.
Or do you have to do set times on each machine, eg 1 hour on bike, 1 hour running.
How long after weighing 110 kg will i see results working out 7 days a week for 1 1/2 at a pace i can handle?
Question about using wrist weights on a cross trainer?

I’ve been doing 30-40 minutes, six days a week on a cross trainer for almost a year and been really pleased with the results. Legs, shoulders and arms have really toned-up and my cardio fitness is much better. I started using 1lb wrist weights and noticed an improvement pretty quickly. I have just got some 2.5lb weights and started using them, but I don’t want beefy arms, just toned arms. Will they be OK? I’m 49kg, 5′4″ and a pretty lean build.
Best supplements muscle growth, cardio and joints?

I’m a 47 year old guy who has just started to go to the gym. Previously been reasonably fit (martial arts instructor and squash player) but have developed middle aged gut. I’m doing about 60 mins cardio (bike 2×20 and cross trainer 1 x 20), some powerplate (for abs and arms) and then doing chest and shoulder weights.
I want to lose my gut and build up my chest, shoulders and arms as I’ve always been conscious they are too puny.
I want to take the best mixture of supplements to support me. I used to take Cod Liver Oil and Glucosamine. I also tried some Hydroxycut which played havoc with my system.
So bearing in mind the workout I am doing three times per week, what do you think is the best supplement mix to be taking? I think Creatine will be a must but will happily take advice given.
i’ve recently started adding ten laps of the swimming pool to my regular 25-30 mins cardio workout?

instead of doing weights does anyone know if the swimming aspect will act just aswell on my upperbody strength and help me get fitter. i just usually did 3 sets of ten with some dumbells but i enjoy the pool better, i do my treadmill/cross trainer/rowing then hit the pool.

how do i most effectively use a cross trainer?

I have bought a cross trainer, mainly to lose weight and increase cardio levels. Can I use it every other day? It also has a bike. Can I use the cross trainer one day and the bike the next day?
